Another small business (maybe not that small) that I spotted while on the way to my Lotto outlet is a Phone Shop that is also a Pawnshop. Look at the pic and focus on the signage atop the store sign that says "Highest Appraisal" and "Guaranteed All Items Kept In Vault".In Manila, almost everybody from the CEO of a Conglomerate to the lowly street sweeper has a mobile phone. And when times get tough, mobile phones are now accepted for pawning.
Some say that pawning of mobile phones tends to encourage mobile phone snatching as these can be converted immediately to cash--but that would be another story.
