Many Incidences of Kids Being Trained To Rob!!!

Further to the post below about Kids being trained to be professional shoplifters, here are other HORRIBLE STORIES  which scares the hell out of me because of what they are making innocent children do:

courtesy of smilepolitely.com
1.  It was in the morning and my Staff boards a Public Bus at the  Shaw Boulevard Bus Stop at EDSA.  Upon reaching the Boni Avenue Bus Stop in Mandaluyong (about 1 km away), an Adult Male and about 8 small kids board the bus.  After traveling just a few meters away just before the Guadalupe Bridge, the Man stands up, shows his gun and announces a Hold-up.  He says he only wants the bus passengers' cellphones.  Immediately the 8 small kids swarm all over the passengers collecting their cellphones.

2.  Another friend was in a Taxi in Metro Manila stucked in traffic.  Suddenly, small kids started circling all the stopped cars and started trying to open the doors.  (One small kid was barely reached the top of the door but he knew what to do).  There was a man standing and observing the kids. If there was an open door, the kids will start getting anything they can get their hands on and suddenly ran away.

3.  At a popular fried chicken restaurant in Manila, a group of diners with a balikbayan (Filipino who lived abroad & in Manila for vacation)  were having a good time.  Suddenly, the small kid in the other table approached the balikbayan in a childish innocent way thereby getting the amused attention of the balikbayan.  The parents of the small kid stood up and then approached the group of diners with the balikbayan apologizing for the behavior of their small kid while at the same time one of the parents deftly took the bag of the balikbayan.  Nobody noticed because they were both listening to one of the parents apologized plus the dancing prank of the small kid while the other parent took the bag.  The balikbayan, I heard, lost almost P300,000 in foreign currency.

Beware of Young Children Being Trained as Professional Shoplifters!!!

courtesy of llexan,com
Yesterday afternoon I went to the usual Drugstore Chain to buy my usual P2,000-worth of Maintenance Medicines.  Come to think of it, my Maintenance medicines cost much more than the cost of the Maintenance Check-up/Change Oil of my Toyota car as billed by our local Toyota dealership.

After depositing (that's what I call my medicine expense) to the well-known chain drugstore, I stuck up a conversation with the security guard and we invariably touched on the topic of shoplifters.  Here's what I found out::

1.  An increasing number of shoplifters are small children. The reason is that once caught, these kids cannot be sent to jail being minors.

2.  Target products are Pediasure and Gain Plus milk.  (Even the 1.6-kg can is easily stolen as the Kid-shoplifter would wear baggy loose basketball shorts (till the knee height) and somehow hide two of these big cans in his thigh).

3.  A friend of mine who was a Supermarket Store Manager told me that a shoplifter that they catch on Monday will again be caught on Thursday.  The reason is that these shoplifters (kids and adults) are supported by syndicates who have the funds to bail them out.

In fact, during one incident wherein they caught shoplifting, the shoplifter even told the Store Manager to just bring him to the police precinct as somebody will just bail them out.

4.  When a shoplifter shoplifts in a supermarket, they do not steal at random.  I was told that these shoplifters are given a list of pre-ordered items (i.e. already ordered) to steal.

5.  These shoplifters are also aware of Legalities to the extent if the security guard makes the arrest before the shoplifter leaves the store premises, then it is still not shoplifting!

Before Signing that Lease, DO YOUR HOMEWORK & CHECK OUT THE MARKET.

You suddenly saw that a foodcart pulled out of this mall with a supposed high pedestrian traffic.  Without studying your market, you rushed to the Leasing Office and told the Leasing Officer you want to get that recently vacated site and are willing to make the Security Deposit right now!!

Great!  It is so hard to get a site in a good mall and this is your chance of a Lifetime, or is it?

Am not being a killjoy but should you not step back first and study your market?

In a mall, the Potato Corner had to pull-put despite being the market leader in potato fries because their SRP of P48 for a small box of cheese-flavored fries was just too high for the market of residents used to a P25 4-piece siomai order!

The same goes for Twisted fries that retail for P50-P60-P70 an order. It may be good for the Glorietta or Boni High Street crowd but not the Masa crowd.

Remember, when you sign a Mall site, you are locked-in for 12months (meaning you pay for 12months) even if you want to call it quits after 3 months.  Study first!!
